Considering the level of engagement Instagram gets, it has been the fastest-growing social media over the past few years. With so many features and a chance to showcase your talents in front of the world, it can indeed surpass the craze of Facebook in the coming years. Therefore Instagram has set some limitations on actions users can perform within a certain time limit.

If you are planning to take your business on Instagram, it is extremely important to know this Instagram Daily Actions Limit. Though these action limits were set to counter Bots and Spam accounts, real users are also being affected by this. So, if you want to grow on Instagram, you need to take care of these limits or Instagram will treat your account as spam and will ultimately ban your account.

we limit how often you can do certain things on instagram to protect our community.

Therefore it is important to know the answers to some questions like How many posts you can do in one day? or how many follow/unfollows are allowed in one day? How many people you can tag in each picture/post? How many hashtags you can use in one post? and many more. We will see all the Instagram Daily Actions Limit in this post.

Understanding Instagram Daily Actions Limit:

You might have seen the above popup some or the other day, maybe while unfollowing multiple people or trying the follow/unfollowing way to gain some followers. Right?

The popup says ‘We limit how often you can do certain things on Instagram to protect our community’ it means that you have reached the limit of some actions you were performing. Maybe you were following too many users in a minute.

In most scenario, the restriction or banned are revoked in a few hours, but sometime it may take up to weeks. Users are advised to wait for at least 48 hrs before performing the same actions once they reached the limit.

Now let’s discuss all the limitations on Instagram and how to protect your Instagram account from banning in detail:

Instagram Like Limits:

Perhaps the most triggered limit of Instagram is the like limit, while scrolling through the reels, you just keep liking all the reels without actually watching to get some followers. But after a few minutes, you get a popup saying ‘Try Again Later’, faced it?

There’s a limit to the number of likes you can give in a day or hours.

The Instagram likes limit in 2023 varies from user to user, in 2022 some users were able to like 1000 posts per day, while some got restricted to around 800 likes. Therefore, I recommend not exceeding 400 likes per day or 10 like per hour to protect your account.

Instagram Unlike Limits:

While you want to unlike multiple photos, keep in mind that you can, unlike almost 100 photos per hour.

Instagram Post Limit:

While there’s no limit to the number of posts you can do on Instagram in one hour or a day, you need to set a specific limit to post. Too many posts can cause irritation to your followers and can affect your business negatively. You need to keep a gap of 1-2 hours between consecutive posts to grab followers’ engagement.

Instagram Stories limit:

Similar to posts, there’s no limit to story posts. Users are free to post multiple stories without worrying about the ban. Again I recommend using around 5-6 stories only per day.

Instagram Comment Limits

The more you spend time on Instagram, the more comment limits you get. On average, users are allowed 10-12 comments per hour. Do not keep spamming comments on other IG users’ accounts, this will force insta to think of you as a bot or spam and will restrict you from commenting more.

Pro tip: Wait at least 30-50 seconds before leaving comments and do not continuously post the same comment.

Instagram DM’s (Direct Message) Limit:

While there’s no limit to DM’s, this is ethically incorrect to spam someone with DM’s. Instagram will not entertain such behavior and if the receiver reports your account for spam, your account will be banned sooner or later. Do not send more than 80-100 Dm’s daily to be on the safe side.

Here are some tips to protect your account from DM’s banning:

  1. Do not keep sending the same messages to multiple people, instead use the personalized message to avoid looking spam.
  2. If it is necessary to make the same message, I suggest you change some words that mean the same. Use paraphrasing messages (d.ifferent words with the same meaning).

Instagram Follow/Unfollow limit:

Instagram shares the same number of Follow and Unfollow limits for a well-established account. You are allowed to follow/unfollow about 10 accounts per hour and 200 accounts per day without getting limited.

If you want to unfollow low-interested accounts, we have a new feature on Instagram as a “least interact profile” list. This is a list of 50 user profiles that you have least interacted with in recent times. Start unfollowing accounts you don’t need any longer.

These 50 unfollows will not be counted in limits, just go back to the homepage and refresh the page to regain the limit.

Conclusion

With this, we have come to the end of our post. Hope you have now understood the daily action limits of Instagram and now you can keep your account safe and secure without getting restricted by Instagram.

Staying under this limit may slow down your activities but for the long run and the safety of your account, stay within the Limits of Instagram.
